When the warrior-poet Ōta Dōkan built Edo Castle, he took part of the titular deity of the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura to serve as the guardian deity of the castle. Sensoji temple's Kaminarimon gate

The Kaminarimon gate (officially known as "Furaijinmon") is the symbol of Sensoji temple. It was reconstructed in 1960 by Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (now Panasonic). It’s the number one tourist attraction in the Asakusa area.
